Mercedes Sellek is a veteran transactional attorney concentrating her practice in complex real estate acquisitions, sales, and financing. She represents institutional and private clients in all phases of the acquisition or disposition of commercial, residential and industrial real property. Mercedes assists clients with due diligence support- including environmental and zoning related reviews, title analysis, and development related matters. Additionally, she represents clients in drafting and reviewing leases for both landlord and tenant, commercial or residential. Mercedes is fluent in Spanish and represents Latin American and European clients with U.S. in-bound transactions- acquisitions and sales, both on the commercial and residential levels, as well as the structuring and corporate formation aspects related to the acquisitions. Mercedes represents institutional clients with commercial lending for various types of projects- real estate or asset based, and represents both lenders and borrowers in loan work-outs and distressed business transactions, including the disposition of REO special assets. She frequently serves as local counsel for out of state attorneys and clients assisting in the review of purchase and sale agreements, leases and loan documentation to conform the documentation to local customs and practice. She provides litigation support in connection with commercial foreclosures and disposition of real property assets; the representation of bankruptcy trustees in connection with the rehabilitation and disposition of real estate bankruptcy assets; and the representation of private clients in connection with public/private joint ventures.
